Mayura Balasubramanian, Founder :
Having grown up on a rich dose of traditional and contemporary arts and crafts, Mayura is a self proclaimed cultural junkie who's tried her hand at most things creative!
Her grassroots level exposure to India's rich cultural heritage comes from handling a national craft and culture based rural tourism project with UNDP India, spread across 36 villages in 20 states. It was the perfect platform to gain perspective on the challenges that needed to be addressed in the handicrafts sector. She has proven experience across the entire handicrafts value chain from sourcing, grassroots capacity building, design development to improving operational efficiency and enabling marketing across multiple channels.
Mayura has over 12 years of experience spanning Corporate, Development and Education sectors. She has done her MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB), Class of 2004. She is a recipient of NABARD's Social Entrepreneur Fellowship as part of their Rural Innovations Fund, 2013-14
Her vision is for citizens and corporates alike to extend the concept of "Make in India" to promote and preserve everything that's handmade in India.
